From the choices you have made the problem you are experiencing

Gas produced from reaction
between glass and other material
Ingress of air / Combustion problems
  • Pieces of brick dropped into glass
  • Metal dropped into glass

  • Glass level above channel washing mortar into glass
  • Channel joint wear

  • Electrode wear
  • Excessive power from electrodes
  • Excessive current to earth electrode when utilising furnace boost
  • Oil contamination
  • Welding slag
  • Cracked spout bowl

  • Cracked or badly sealed orifice ring
  • Cavitation from stirrers

  • Stirrers operating in wrong direction
  • Cavitation from plunger nose
  • Reboil normally on amber glass caused by flame on surface
  • Reboil normally on amber glass caused by excessive reheating glass surface in forehearth
    (Entry temperature too low)
