This low maintenance modular design gives greater controllability and accuracy, fuel savings and a cost-effective installation. Each zone has only one moving part (the fan rotor assembly) which is precision balanced during manufacture for reliable, quiet operation. Because all settings are electronic no re-calibration is required and accuracy is guaranteed. The whole system has been designed to be completely safe by the incorporation of pressure switches and gas shut-off valves. All items are cabinet mounted to give a neat and simple solution for forehearth and working end combustion controls. AccuracyThe "VSF Combustion System" from BH-F for 400 Series gas-firedforehearths and working ends offers precise and accurate firing control over each individual zone by the use of variable speed variable flow rate fans. With this system, the operation of a fan for each zone is directly controlled by the appropriate zone temperature controller. Command signals generated by the zone temperature controllers are fed directly to the fan speed controllers and the speed of each fan is increased or decreased accordingly. The volume of gas/air mixture fed to each individual forehearth or working end zone is proportional to fan speed, and this will increase or decrease according to the demands placed on the system by the zone temperature control signal. The gas regulator in the supply to each zone responds to any increase or decrease in the air flow to maintain the correct ratio of gas/air mixture fed to the manifolds and burners. SimplicityThe BH-F "VSF Combustion System" is designed for simplicity,for ease of installation and straightforward and simple maintenance using modular components. It replaces the one large inefficient, continuously running fixed speed fan, the electrical or pneumatic actuators and associated supply equipment, and air header and control valves with their bypass assemblies. Low MaintenanceWhen supplied as original equipment the immediate benefit is a muchcleaner and neater machine floor layout. The major benefits are improved controllability, fuel savings due to the increase in operational efficiency, greater reliability and a reduction in maintenance costs and down time due to the modular construction of the system’s main components. No regular or routine maintenance is required, and as the system has electronically maintained settings which do not drift, no system adjustments are required. The VSF system has individual zone integrity which ensures that only one control zone is affected should a problem occur.
