Our Engineers

Our field engineers have a reputation for technological expertise and service.
Travelling world wide to client sites, our engineers are available to supervise.
the installation and commissioning of BH-F's equipment and its technical partners'
equipment, such as the control systems supplied through ourselves and third parties
Engineers will remain on site until the installation is fully commissioned and operational.

Pre-delivery

Our engineers are available to complete inspections of the glass contact
refractories purchased directly by the customer for use within
BH-F Working Ends and Forehearths.
As part of our pre-sales service, our sales engineers will visit clients'
sites,wherever located, to discuss their particular requirements,
or arrange visits to one of our world-wide sales offices.

Installation and Commissioning

Whilst on site our engineer will supervise the installation of the supplied equipment,
to ensure that the installation maintains BH-F quality standards, guiding clients in
the best use of labour and parts, assuring trouble free operation for many years to come.
Commissioning support is of course part of the engineer's job, and our engineers
are trained to ensure a problem free warm up, from the initial light off
to glass being delivered from our forehearths,
reducing the need for specialist warm up contractors for our equipment.

Our engineers carry specialist instrumentation such as pressure and oxygen sensors,
allowing them to accurately adjust and commission combustion systems.
This ensures not only that the equipment is running at its most efficient
with respect to gas usage, but ensuring that emissions into
the environment are minimised.

BH-F supplies a full range of peripheral instrumentation, such as:

After Sales Service

The Engineer's job does not end when he leaves site,
We provide an exceptional after sales service,
supporting clients with the information to operate the equipment at its peak efficiency.
Remote diagnostics are available via a direct modem link
(computer to computer), via telephone, fax or e-mail.
Also our engineers have the ability to post relevant sections of
operation and maintenance manuals onto this web site to assist in any maintenance
queries, informing clients world-wide in what is now fast becoming a global village.

continuing support is always available for conversion,
adaptation and modification of equipment after it has been installed.

Training Services

Our engineers, as part of their duties, will supply on-site training to personnel,
to ensure a smooth transition from cold boxed equipment into full glass production.

A specialist training course service is also available with training topics such as:
  • Feeder Mechanism Operation and Maintenance
  • Forehearth Mechanical operation and maintenance
  • Control system operation
  • Control loop tuning
  • Servo feeder maintenance and set-up
  • Servo Shears maintenance and set-up
Also PLC and SCADA programming and maintenance courses can be arranged
via third parties at a client's request.
