When producing large, high value items such as TV screens and
funnels
glass quality is paramount.
This has lead to a meticulous attention to detail
and an understandable reluctance by glass producers to change
any part of the process that appears to be
working satisfactorily.
Today, however, all parts of the process are coming
under increasing pressure as throughputs and
quality requirements increase.
The new generation of BH-F
400 series forehearth offers a
solution
to the increased demands placed on glass conditioning.
The combinations of longitudinal cooling, high turndown side heating
and graded insulation are used to give a high cooling capacity,
with relatively low cooling air usage, lower fuel consumption and consistently
good homogeneity and temperature stability. Developed from the experience
gained by providing hundreds of forehearths to solve glass conditioning problems
in a wide variety of glass sectors, these forehearths can be tailored to suit
a specific application whist remaining flexible enough to cope with changing
circumstances.
The 400 series forehearth technology is
complemented by the BH-F
hydraulic feeder
that has been developed to incorporate
proven hydraulic technology with the
latest generation of motion control systems.
This results in an accurate, smooth running feeder that
has a long operational life with minimal maintenance.
